Mark rejoined Bison Engineering in 2015 after 20 years in the mining and mineral processing industry. He is responsible for business development activities in the Arizona region and for managing Bison/EEMC services in the Tucson office. Mark is a Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology. During his career, Mark has worked in Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Alaska, California, and Australia.
In his various engineering, managing, and global advising roles, Mark managed operational compliance with state, federal, and international environmental regulations. Compliance was achieved through right-sized assurance processes, continuous improvement, and utilizing proactive and coordinated approaches to governmental regulations.
His 25 years of environmental experience include developing risk management strategies and implementing strategic environmental, health, safety, community and security management systems for multiple operations. In addition, Mark assessed environmental impacts, closure costs, financial sureties, and was involved in the design and development of facilities to reduce future liabilities. The highlight in Mark’s many travels is building collaborative and sustainable cultures within a business to enhance compliance, social performance and reputation.
Mark enjoys many outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing, diving, fishing, golfing, photography and participating in his children’s activities.
