Bison Engineering, Inc. is seeking a full-time Environmental Field Technician to join our Tucson, AZ office and support our Source Testing team.
Bison is an employee-owned environmental firm with over 45 years of experience in helping our clients comply with air quality regulations. We specialize in emissions/source testing, consulting, air quality permitting, ambient air monitoring, and gas flow monitor design and manufacture.
Emissions testing is used to determine the level of air pollutants emitted from an industrial source. The selected candidate will be a member of the Tucson Source Test Team and assist in all aspects of industrial emissions/source testing. This includes equipment maintenance and calibration, glassware preparation, and on-site emissions testing in industrial settings.
This hands-on role includes regional travel and physically demanding work in outdoor and industrial settings, including elevated work areas. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential.

Minimum Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a two-year associate degree or four-year degree is preferred.
Experience: Applicants with environmental work, mechanical, construction, electrical, or industrial setting experience preferred.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: A valid driver’s license is required. Applicants should be comfortable driving a full-size pickup truck with a trailer; no CDL is required. Familiarity with algebra, MS Word, and MS Excel are preferred. Successful candidates should communicate clearly and work well in a team setting, maintain a positive attitude, follow safe work practices in all settings, and be able to pass random drug/alcohol screenings and a background check.
Travel: Travel is required throughout the year to project sites throughout the Southwest. This position requires 70-80% travel.
Schedule: Full-time role with an expectation to work in the Tucson office.
Physical demands: This role requires comfort working at heights, including platforms and aerial lifts that are often more than 50 feet above ground. Work is frequently performed outdoors in a range of weather and climate conditions. The position requires climbing ladders, lifting up to 75 pounds at times, safely using hand tools and hot equipment, and occasionally working long hours, nights, and/or weekends.

Bison Engineering, Inc., is a Montana-based, employee-owned environmental engineering firm with 46 years of experience in helping our clients comply with air quality and environmental regulations. We specialize in air quality permitting, emissions testing, ambient air monitoring, and gas flow monitor design and manufacture. We are recruiting for an experienced project engineer/scientist for our Consulting Services Department.
We will consider applicants with a four-year engineering or other technical degree. A minimum of five years of environmental consulting experience in industrial, regulatory, and/or consulting settings is required. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or other professional certifications are highly desired. Experience in environmental consulting is required, specifically in emissions inventories, Title V permitting, minor source permit applications, toxic release inventories, greenhouse gas reporting, air dispersion modeling (AERMOD – BEEST software required), EPCRA Tier II reporting, Environmental Assessments (EAs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). Applicants should have experience in stationary source air quality regulations and be proficient with the Clean Air Act, NSPS, and NESHAPs regulations. Water quality experience will also be considered.
Technical requirements for the position include the ability to interpret environmental regulations, to use compliance management tools, and to manage projects and client relationships. Applicants should possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work independently and mentor engineers/scientists on their team.
